The aim of The SWEET Directory is to make it as simple as possible for people to find help in overcoming barriers to opportunity – be they an individual in need of support, a service provider that wants to greater visibility or a corporate partner looking for a service provider to work with.

How is The SWEET Directory funded?
The SWEET Directory is currently funded via Toni’s speaking engagements. To book, or find out more about Toni’s speaking work, please fill out the contact form.
Who is The SWEET Directory for?
The SWEET Directory serves a number of audiences. What connects them all is a desire to help people overcome barriers to Education, Employment and Training. Audiences include:
- Individuals looking for help to access education, employment and training
- Service providers who help people experiencing financial barriers to education, employment or trainingÂ
- Corporate organisations who want to partner with service providers local to their regional offices or wish to find service providers who can help them complement their existing social impact efforts
How can I get involved with The SWEET Directory?
There are three categories for getting involved which we hope will make sure everyone is included!
- For free: Spread the word about The SWEET Directory, from sharing it on your socials to pinging your local press.
- For a return: Book the directory’s creator, Toni Kent, to deliver a talk on social mobility at your organisation. Her work is what funds the platform.
- For philanthropic reasons: If you’d like to make a donation to help fund ongoing development of the platform, fill out the contact form to book a conversation!
How can I list my organisation on The SWEET Directory?
To list your organisation, simply click the ‘Apply now’ button located throughout the site.
What’s the criteria for an organisation to be listed on The SWEET Directory?
Organisations that apply to be listed on The SWEET Directory must:
- Serve people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage
- Offer services that help people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage access education, employment and training
- Have an active website and a registered address in the UK or Ireland
Do I have to pay to list my organisation on The SWEET Directory?
No, listings are currently free. Enhanced listings are available for a small fee.
How often is The SWEET Directory updated?
Organisations can usually be added within 24hrs. All listings are reviewed to check that they have a legitimate website and registered address at the time of submission but are not monitored or checked beyond that.
What's behind the category choices?
The categories were chosen on the basis of the barriers that people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage disproportionately face compared to peers who live in areas of greater affluence. When you live in an area of financial deprivation, you are more likely to experience unemployment, poor educational outcomes, slower career progression and lower salary expectations. At the same time, you are more likely to experience involvement with the care system and the criminal justice system.
What’s the long-term ambition of The SWEET Directory?
The long-term ambition is to make The SWEET Directory the place that people go to find organisations that help people access education, employment and training.Â
Why isn’t The SWEET Directory a charity or CIC?
To cut out the possibility of red-tape and keep costs as lean as possible. Our founder grew up in a community where people had to make things happen and actively support one another in times of crisis because they didn’t have the time or resources to sit around and wait.
